For the third time consecutively Jordan ranks 1st in the 'MENA Region' for investing in renewable energy as indicated by Bloomberg's Climatescope 2019 Index. 'The Kingdom is recognized as a pioneering country in shifting to renewable energy, “thanks to the country’s policies and regulations”, the Energy Minister said, highlighting that the ministry installs solar panels on homes of National Aid Fund beneficiaries for free'. The Minister added that renewable energy ventures have reached total capacity of 1,450MW, noting that by early 2021 capacity is estimated to reach 2,400MW at an approximate value of Three Billion United States Dollars.
